smoothwall of shorewall

on my MDK 10.1 machines they have shorewall installed and i would like to know if it would be better to intall smoothwall on a nother computer and disable shorewall on myh machines? what do u think. also how much space would smoothie require for HDD space

i installed smooth wall and when lilo was trying to boot, it just reported "10101010010101010101010101001....." under the boot screen.

what is the problem with lilo?
