Smooth Fonts

Is there anyway to get OSX type smooth fonts for Linux? I'm using Simply Mepis 3.3 and KDE 3.3 and to be honest the fonts look like s*it compared to Mac OSX or even other Linux distro's ive seen Suse for example.

Is anti-aliasing enabled? You could install you windows or MAC truetype fonts on Mepis.

I've just installed Lucida Grande the font that makes Mac OSX look so good. It looks totally cr*p on Linux,Jagged edges looks like nothing. I though WIndows was bad until I seen Simply Mepis. There has to be away of getting smooth fonts, the Anti aliasing is ticked so I take it that its enabbled

It seems to be a problem with your antialiasing because on my system using MS fonts, they work fine with antialiasing enabled. what version of KDE are you using because there is a release in the 3.x series that had a problem with anti-aliasing.

3.3. I seen 3.2 on Suse 9.1 and it looked excellent
