Slow, slow KDE with network connected
Hey all. Sorry if this question has already been asked. I searched, but couldn't find it.
I'm running Mandrake 10.1 Community, KDE 3.2 on a Pentium 3 laptop. Usually, it runs great. Here's what I can't understand. I kick off a LAN connection via a NetGear PCMCIA card using dhclient. Once I've done this, K applications (anything KDE: Konquerer, Smb4K, KOffice, etc.) take about 3 minutes to load. Other apps unrelated to KDE start normally - Mozilla for instance. If I stop the connection, the start up problems go away. Oh yeah, for the good of us all, is this something I should report to KDE or Mandrake? Thanks. |
