Slow Linux Internet..

Hi,

I've finally got the net working with Freeserve anytime on my P2 266 with RH8.

However now its incredibly slow. It must be twice as slow as Win98 at least. It seems to be the pictures that load the slowest, as the html comes up fine, but i'm left starting at the icons for a good few seconds before they appear.

File downloads seem to be OK, with speeds upto and over 5kbps.

Are there any tips people could reccomend? A different browser? Or is my PC just too slow for this?? Do I need an earlier distro?

Surely if Windows can do it, linux can?

Cheers

Try Galeon or Firebird

Going to try galeon in a sec, but i can't find firebird.... what is it?

Try looking for phoenix. Their new name is firebird because of some copyright thing, but it may not be in effect as of now.

Opera claims to be the fastest and lightest browser and in full screen, you don't see the ad.
