Slackware login failure

When I try to login, it says "Unable to change tty /dev/tty1: Read-only file system"
This was the first boot after installation, what did I do wrong?

And when I try to boot it from floppy it starts to uncompress Linux and then it says
"invalid compressed format (err=1)

-- System halted"

I hadn't any chance to add new user because I need to log in to do it.
But it's not problem anymore I think, because my hard drive crashed.
Now I need to install new one, and propably get better hard drive.

Just a note - this is probably more suitable in the Slackware section of this website in the Linux Distributions portion. You would probably get more answers.
