Slackware and SSH - Keeps disconnecting me
Sorry if this question has been asked many times before, but I definitely need to know if there is answer to this problem.
I am running Slackware 9.1 and have done the majority of updates with swaret. The kernel has been updated to 2.4.25 from 2.4.22 and sshd has been updated to 3.8p1 from 3.7. The hardware is an Asus P3B-F /w 1008 Beta 04 BIOS, PIII-600 Katmai (not the E), 256MB Micron PC133, ATI Mach 64 4MB PCI, and a Macronix MC98715 10/100 network card.
I have this issue where if I use more then one process in the shell, it will disconnect me from the shell completely. If I just log in and leave it at the console, its fine, doesn't disconnect. As soon as I go to use centericq, bx, or irssi, BANG, kicks me off within five minutes.
I am using the default config file located in /etc/ssh/ (or /etc/sshd) and have opened up the proper ports and set the special application as well for port 22 TCP. The router and the computer are running full duplex between eachother.
This happens when I use SecureCRT and PuTTY.
If anyone has experienced this, or if there was something that I did wrong with swaret, please let me know.
Thanks.
