Slackware 9.1 Linux Crashing? KDE
Twice now while under KDE in X, I have experianced "crashes" that resulted in myself having to reboot the computer manually (power button).
What happens: EVERYTHING freezes with the exception of the mouse (movment..clicking does nothing). This includes things such as the Caps/Num lock buttons not respoding with the little green lights on the keyboard.

What I was doing...
Case 1: Changing settings in Crossover Office (home dir)
Case 2: Looking in a tar.gz file..not moving anything, just seeing what was inside.

Any ideas what would cause this? I find it very odd that its locking up like this, and that the mouse stays moving.

Thanks in advance for any help able to be given.

I used to exipierence these lockups and crashes. I would check your /var/log/XFree86.log and see if there is any (EE) lines that may point out if there was a file missing.
