Slackware 13.1 audacity dlopen

Any ideas why I am getting the following error when running configure for audacity 1.3.12 on Slackware 13.1:
checking for library containing dlopen... no
configure: error: dlopen not found
./configure: line 9143: exit: required: numeric argument required
./configure: line 9143: exit: required: numeric argument required

I think the appropriate file is installed:
locate dlfcn.h

/usr/include/bits/dlfcn.h
/usr/include/dlfcn.h

Everything I looked up has said that during the install of the programs the correct links to dlopen command are not made. reinstall sdl and audacity. SDL is the library and dlopen is the internal command to open the /usr/lib/SDL or 64 bit /usr/lib64/SDL
Keep trying.

Did you try the slackbuild:

I believe it was the SlackBuild version of wxPython that resolved the problem. However wxPython would not compile until after I had copied /root/wxWidgets-2.8.11/build/wince/missing/dlfcn.h to /usr/include. wxPython appears to have replaced /usr/include/dlfcn.h during the SlackBuild. Then I could be way off as I was not real careful in my watching what went where when. In any case Audacity is running. Problem solved.
