slackware 11 help


i have currently installed slackware 11 on a pc without internet. when it boots up, i get a thing that looks like terminal. how do i load up KDE? (put as simply as possible please!)

Could you use better thread titles in future please? You can run "startx" to, well, start X (assuming you've already logged in). If you haven't done so, make a regular user account first (with "adduser") and then log in with that and do "startx".

Also, if you want to boot to a graphical login screen rather than a console (which I suspect is the case), then you'll want to change your default runlevel from 3 to 4. To do this, edit /etc/inittab (you'll need to be root), changing the line "id:3:initdefault:" to "id:4:initdefault:".
