Slack 9.1 - PHP apps can't access MySQL but Perl Apps can

Is there something I'm missing in the 9.1 release of slack? I don't have any problems connecting to Mysql with Interchange or /.

I've been unable to get things like Postnuke, MD-Pro, CSLH Live help, and other PHP-based things that use MySQL to work. Very frustrated.

Yes I uncommented the line at the bottom of httpd.conf, and chmod'd the rc file for Mysql and it starts and runs fine too.

PHP and Mysql seem to be funny though. For example, I can install MD-Pro with no problems and then when I log in as admin I get bounced right back out as if I didn't log in at all.

I've been up one side and down on the maxdev.com site about this, and no one there seems to be familiar with slack, but after following my careful steps of setting up the MySQL databases and granting "ALL" to the DBO of those databases, this problem continues to plague me.

I don't know if it's a directory permissions issue, a PHP-not-interfacing-with-MySQL, or what.

Any ideas where I might try taking a look? Better yet, has anyone else here gone waste deep into this same mire?

.

My guess is that something like ADODB is missing. I haven't taken the time to look if it is part of Slackware 9.1, but I know a number of PHP-MySQL programs (like ACID) use it. When I installed PHP, I followed instructions I found at the Snort website on installing on on Red Hat, and I've had no problems. You might want to take a look and see if there is anything obvious.
