skype: system locks when the mic is activated
 

i've just installed skype, as im required to telecommute for a job im contracted for. however, whenever i do something that uses the mic (skype, audacity) my whole system locks up and i have to reboot. any thoughts on this?

im reaching here but i did a wine install of the windows version of skype as well as the suse one. i dont know if that could cause this problem, but its a thought. wine is new and scary for me, how would i remove the windows version (i dont need it anyway)

is the system locking when you use the mic w/o sype (and/or audacity)?

i think you can just go into the c:\programs.. whatever and delete the main program... but i'm not sure about the dll's (try reading the doc to unistall-- maybe you can there is a uninstall prog).
