Exclamation Skype sound problem....please help

Hi,
I am using Skype 1.2.0.18_API (Static binary tar.bz2 with Qt 3.2 compiled in)on Fedora Core 1.
My Computer is a PIII-933 Mhz, with 82810E Chipset with Avance AC97 on board sound card.

Whenever I try to make calls from Skype, I get this error message

read error, res = -1 , handle = 30

I don't hear any sounds. Now, if I try to call again, I get this error message

/dev/dsp-1: Device or resource busy

Can anyone please help me? Thanks iin advance. :

There was an issuse a while ago with skype doing that. I think I switched to an earlier version of the program 1.1.ish. I'm not even sure where I got it from now. try hinting about for the earlier version.

Alright I am looking for an older version. Specially any version built for Fedora Core 1. Thanks. I will post here again to tell if it works or not.

Well it didn't work on Fedora Core anyway. Now I am using SuSE 9.1 Personal. And Skype works quite fine on it including many other packages which didn't work on Fedora. SuSE is really nice.
