Skype or equivalant for ubuntu 8.04 64 bit architecture


Hi Everyone,
Well i have been trying to download skype to my laptop so my gf and i can talk to her parents overseas, however i am having the hardest time to find a version of skype for the 64 bit architecture of ubuntu 8.04.
has anyone else had success in using skype or a similar product for ubuntu?

Hi - just download the deb for 32-bit version and install it using:
dpkg -i --force-architecture skype-debian_2.0.0.68-1_i386.deb

It works fine as long as you have got the compat libs installed (sudo apt-get install ia32-libs)
