Question Skype/Fedora 6 - Multiple Soundcards - Configuration

Hi!
I'm running Fedora Core 6 & KDE and I've successfully installed Skype.
Micro works fine, and the Skype test call was successful.
But I'm having trouble directing the output from Skype to a specific soundcard.
I've got sound on board (HDA NVidia) and a Soundblaster Live! 24 bit (CA0106):
Code:
cat /proc/asound/cards
 0 [CA0106 ]: CA0106 - CA0106
                      Live! 7.1 24bit [SB0410] at 0xdc00 irq 18
 1 [NVidia ]: HDA-Intel - HDA NVidia
HDA NVidia at 0xfe9f4000 irq 22
I get output from both without problems. The NVidia is what I use for default output via arts, I've got the speakers connected to it.
Now I'm trying to direct the audio output from a skype call to the Soundblaster to which I connected the headset to keep calls seperated from all other sound like music etc.
On the Skype configuration panel under devices, I tried the following settings:
(I'm using a German version, and I'm translating, so I'm not sure if everything is named like this in the English version)
Audio system: Alsa
record: HDA NVidia (I've got the mic connected to onboard sound)
playback: CA0106
ring in: HDA NVidia
But I still get the output over the NVidia...
It doesn't matter wether I start Skype via artsdsp skype or just skype, the result is the same.
I also tried setting "Audio system" to OSS and chose /dev/dsp for playpack and /dev/dsp1 for record and ring in - same result.
What am I missing?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, Tanja

[solved through workaround]

Found a workaround... I simply switched sound cards; now I'm using the SB for general output and the NVidia for Skype. This way it works the way I want it.
Not exactly the solution I had in mind, but it works.
Still I wonder why it didn't work the other way around
Oh well.
