skipping dhcp broadcast/network detection

I recently downloaded the latest Auditor live cd. On bootup i get "skipping dhcp broadcast/network detection". After it loads up i do "ifconfig" and my nic is not present. "ifconfig eth0 up" brings the nic up but with no IP address. Any suggestions?????

I had a similar problem running Auditor. Try running "netconfig" you can find it under "Settings" After I run it I can get online. If it still does not work, check your settings in
KControl > Internet & Network > Proxy
and select "Automatically detect proxy configuration"
I hope this helps. Right now I'm trying to find out how to make it run automatically. Good luck
