Simulataneous Users

Hi

A nice feature I found in Windows XP is the ability to log out and yet still leave applications running in the background, and then at the same time another user can log in and it won't disrupt your running processes.

Does linux have a feature like this? I know it supports simultaneous users, i.e. ~# su
but does it allow for simulataneous users in graphical mode?

I'm running Fedora Core 3 with Linux 2.6.7.
Any information would greatly be appreciated.

You need to find out if your distro supports the switch user function.

KDE has such an option but I have never used it myself, so I am not sure whether its exactly what you need. If you use GNOME and GDM you can also log in to a different x session whilst still in the first session you lgged into.
