im reletively new to linux, and i want to set up a network. i want my laptop to be accessable by other computers in the house. anyway i have php-enabled apache server installed. i have mysql. i can get it working on my comp but i want to access a forum i made from another one in the house wirelesly. i have a linksys 802.11g card that is useing linuxant driverloader to run. i just want to play around with stuff for now but eventualy i want to set up a closed network for my dad.
im running mandrake 10.1 on an averatec 3150H. is what i want to do possible and at least sort of easy? please speak in terms that a n00b would understand.
i have dsl. it uses a "dsl modem" which i can use to acsess the internet with my wireless card. the other laptop also has wireless. i dont have a manual for the wap. how do i get to my computer from the other? do i just type in the ip of mine in a browser of the other?
