Simple access to intranet thru DNS

Hi there,

I am trying to setup a simple DNS Server which forwards all connections to ISP DNS except for my intranet webserver.

e.g. intranet.com should be retrieved from 192.168.XXX.XXX

I have read tons of forums etc., but it seems that i am stupid. How to do that? Even with GUI its ok.

Thanks

Do a search for "caching nameserver"

Ok, followed the instructions and everything working great! thanks a lot!

Now i want to force an alias which directs connection before ISP DNS is checked, e.g. microsoft.com should go to 192.168.XXX.XXX

Anyone?

Thanks in advance!

PS I have tried the same reasoning for the above situation but when I nslookup microsoft.com I get:

** server can't find named.conf: NXDOMAIN

I guess 192.168.XXX.XXX should be named microsoft.com ?!?

I am desperate help!

You should just create a zone file for microsoft.com, and point the A record to 192.whatever

Code:
named.conf:
zone "microsoft.com" IN {
        type master;
        file "microsoft.com.zone";
        allow-update { none; };
};

microsoft.com.zone:
$TTL 86400
@               IN SOA  @ dmode.dmode.com. (
                42      ; serial
                3H      ; refresh
                15M     ; retry
                1W      ; expiry
                1D )    ; minimum
@               IN NS   microsoft.com.
microsoft       IN A    192.168.XXX.XXX
www             IN A    192.168.XXX.XXX
cache           IN A    192.168.XXX.XXX
portal          IN A    192.168.XXX.XXX
can you tell me where is the mistake?
