SimCity 4 in Ubuntu - Widescreen Resolution

I have researched and can't find anything that works. I installed SimCity 4 it works great! The only problem that there are THICK black bars on the side of the screen, and there are no native widescreen resolutions in the game, however "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -CustomResolution:enabled -r1366x768x32” is a trick that works in Windows to get it almost any widescreen resolution to work. This obviously is Windows file path. I've looked on the Internet for something alternative for Ubuntu and I found this, home/myUserName/.wine/dosdevices/c\:/Program\ Files/Maxis/SimCity\ 4\ Deluxe/Apps/SimCity\ 4.exe -CPUCount:1 "-CustomResolution:enabled" "-r1366x768x32C" (I has an added mod to instruct it to use only one CPU, which is a good idea, as the game crashes randomly otherwise.) But this doesn't work for me.

Any ideas?

You need to change the resolution in-game to a version that is the same ratio as your screen. You have a 16:9 resolution screen. Check for any of the following in-game and change it to those: 960x540 1024x576 1280x720 1366x768. Obviously the last, by your post, shouldn't be there. If you want this to NOT stretch your screen when you play the game, have wine run a virtual desktop of the resolution you choose above. I do not know of commands when initializing the game that could change this other way. Check and look for winetrick add-ons that may help, possibly a guided install from winetricks may help?

Thank you for replying... Please note the that the following resolutions are what is available in-game are 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200, all of these resolutions are 4:3 resolutions.

Also when I go to emulate virtual desktop, it moves the the square the game is set in, to the left of the screen, this is actually more cumbersome to play with an still remains 4:3.

There doesn't seem to be very much I can do.....
