Sigsegv in my face

Alright well here I am again back at these forums. I really wish I could learn to stay away as that would tell everyone my linux box is running perfect. But no...

Here is my problem.

Fresh install of Fedora Core 1 on a P3 560MHz 312Mb RAM 80Gig HD, everything worked perfectly. Even the setup of dual monitors with an AGP and PCI video card. Anyway... I am using the Icon Editor program when I accidently move the pointer out of the window when holding down the left mouse button. Oops crashed it! Ok... no big deal... but after happening and happening again and again. Then all my programs don't even load and all give me the same message. I am not near that computer right now, but I do remember the word 'SIGSEGV' in big letters in the large paragraph explaining what happend. Yet it didn't tell me what happened. So... now all of my programs give me this message.

What is SIGSEGV?

and what do I do... I DO NOT WANT TO REINSTALL... please.

This is what the message says that comes up...

"The application 'whatever' ('whatever') crashed and caused a signal 11 (SIGSEGV)."

What does this mean?
