SIGSEGV everywhere !!!

So, after some time spent with linux, now i have a serious problem::every time i try 2 log into any user in kde it logs, and then i get sigsegv errors...if i close them others appeear.now i can't remember what i've been doing last night, it appears that some fonts may be the problem.anyway, this way i can't launch even file manager...the system is UNUSABLE...don't know why i get theese, maybe a log would help but i am a novice, don't know where 2 get it...

Okay, what happens if you use a desktop other than KDE? On Red Hat, for instance, you can select that from the menus at the bottom of the login-window. Does this enable you to run at all?

If it does, then perhaps you can re-install the packages for KDE.

Another thing to look at are any /var/log/messages entries.

The first step, basically, is to try to get something that you can base either a diagnosis or a solution on. Trying to use "something besides KDE," for instance, will tell you whether the problem is specific to KDE or something deeper. (For example, X-windows.)

Another clue might be ... what changed? Let's assume for the sake of simplicity that you weren't, in fact, hit by a virus or a stray cosmic-ray ... rather, that something did change, and that it probably happened right before the system started to go south. (That's not nearly as glamorous a theory but it's a good bit more probable.)

Carefully test to be sure that other user-IDs are affected. All of the user's KDE settings are in a hidden directory named .kde and you can recover sometimes by deleting or renaming it.

"You are a novice?" Welcome! "Don't know where to get help?" Right here! :)

yes, now it doesn't sigsegv "unlimited" at kde start, just once, but every application i run sigsegvs also...i tried enlightenment(uses gnome desktop) and almost every application workz.(that includes konqueror, which i ran from xterm in enlightenment).so i probably need 2 reinstall every kde package, but don't know how to do it.if anyone could help me with that, i shall be very gratefull....

btw, I didn't track the error yet but i think it is from the sound driver(my best guess) or sound card...so, b4 reinstalling kde, might try removing the sound card and hoping it works, but don't know if it will be autodetected again, can only hope so, because it was when i installed linux.so, back 2 sigsegv again :D.
