sign on invisible in gaim

Hi,

I use gaim for yahoo IM and I was wondering if I could sign on invisible. I don't mean signing on visible and then setting the away to "invisible". If I do that, people can see me when I sign in and then immediately become invisible... pretty obvious to the other person that I'm still there and invisible. Beats the point of the invisible option. Someone help me to sign on invisible. Thanks.

i am also facing the same problem

and please do not suggest any other IM,coz i like working on gaim only

this is not even possible with the windows version of the official client, so im not sure if you are in luck....

that makes me think the ability is not even in the protocol....

are you saying that we cannot login as invisible in windows with yahoo messnger??

oops my bad, i thought you were talking about aim, not yim... ive never used yahooim

Yeah, it would be nice if a plugin was available -- perhaps GAIM will include this feature sometime soon *crosses fingers*

Until then, I'll just use ymessenger from http://messenger.yahoo.com/

ever tried gyach instant messenger??

it gives u more features than yahoo messenger and allows invisible mode also
