How do you mean shutdown? Do you mean turn off or simply to turn off the monitor and such?

If you mean to turn the System off every 10 min of un use is not a good idea, you can do damage by power cycling your system that much. If you want the system to powerdown after an idle period, then I would suggest a longer timeout, such as 4 hours or so, even that might be too much.
