Share desktop

I have 1 gentoo machine and a redhat laptop.
I have both machines running and ssh works ok.
What I want to do, is to be able to control the desktop on the laptop while still being logged into the laptop.
This is handy, for example I want to show someone how to do something, so they can see the steps I take, click this, do that etc.
I could setup VNC, but from my experience at work (on NT machines), there can be only 1 login at once, so whatever I do is not visible by someone sitting at the machine.
I thought there would be some program or setup since I'm running both linux and don't care about controlling windows machines.
Hope I've made it clear what I'm after.
Thanks.

Would Remote Desktop fit the bill? I know that Netmeeting has the option you're after, does GnomeMeeting have the same?

How about xtv? That looks like something you might want.
