Does anyone have any reccomendations on how to run an sftp server in red hat FC2? I'd like the connection to be secure. I'd like there to be multiple users that can log in with unique passwords. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'd like there to be a sort of 'root' folder for ftp sharing, where I can throw in an entire set of folders and files, and just share from that. Is that possible, and how? Are there any special programs that I need or can I do it with included server software with Fedora2?
Also, let me elaborate briefly. This question is not as important but does relate to my purpose. I used to run a KDX Server (
http://www.haxial.com), which was a filesharing system comprised of a piece of server software and a client, which could log in as admin and manipulate the server. It had a lot of features like news board, chat room, user list, you could run and quit processes, file browser (within a 'root' base folder), strong encryption, all kinds of stuff. However, the linux impementation of this pair of programs is still in early development, as they are already out for Mac/Win. Are there any sweet Linux programs that do this? Or should I just stick with sftp?
Thanks as always,
Dave
