severe weather alert software for linux?

does anyone know of a good software for linux that will periodically check the NWS via the internet and alert (via either a text message, LCDproc client , or most importatnly a lout siren like sound via the sound card) when there is a tornado watch and/or warning in the local area? I live far from the nearest tornado siren and such a program would be helpfull especially for when i'm sleeping and there are tornados possible.

interesting....the best thing that i have seen that is closest to what you are talking about would be a plugin for GKrellM.....there is a package out there (at least for mandrake) that lets you use the plugin, however, i am not sure that you would be able to get quite what you are asking it to do
