Angry Setup for C++ programs

Hi All,

I'm trying to set my Linux box and compile some C++ programs which use the OpenGL/Mesa packages. I am a linux novice. (and not far from being a C++ novice as well)
This whole process is a nightmare, most of the makes I do give me some kind of an error, so I just install more and more and more packages..

After installing everything I could think of, still even the sample programs aren't compiling.
Can anyone provide some guidance - a link to a tutorial - so at least I could understand what am I doing wrong?

Many thanks,

DT

Don't know about a tutorial, but
apparently the linking fails, which means
the the compiler can see the headers,
but not the libraries to link against
dynamically.

Try
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/path/to/your/libGLU

Cheers,
TInk
