Setting up apache... another one


I know you experts have probably heard it 2 million times, but....

I need help setting up and installing apache!

What i need is a detailed tutorial for setting up apache using redhat 9's manager. I cannot even start the program (./httpd start), it fails! argh any help is appreciated!

A good source for this would probably be the http://Redhat.com site itself under Support or Documentation.

I don't know if it's helpful, but what I find much easier to set up [especially as I want to also install php, mysql, perl ...] is to use lampp . This is something that installs all of the above for you, including ssl.
