Set default application in gnome2.6
I'm trying to change my default web browser in gnome2.6. Using Applications -> Desktop Preferences -> Advanced -> File types and programs, I go to Documents -> World Wide Web -> HTML page and click Edit..., then change Default action to custom, and enter the path to the firefox command.
This doesn't work - when I open an HTML file, it opens in Epiphany.
I've also tried Applications -> Desktop Preferences -> Advanced -> File types and programs, then Internet Services -> World wide web, click on Edit..., then change Program: from epiphany to the firefox binary. This also doesn't work - it still runs epiphany on opening an HTML file.
Please help! I just want to change the default program that handles HTML files.
