Server management software


Hi Guys,

Is anyone aware of a piece of open source software where I can record server information? Things like ip addresses passwords, notes on installed software and users e.t.c?

Sort of a loaded question. The first answer would be to suggest something like a simple text file, kept on a network drive. For simple notes, you don't need much more. You could even use Libreoffice, and password-protect the file if needed.

The second answer is more detailed...since you don't tell us your goals, what environment, what you're trying to accomplish, and for how many users, Nagios may be overkill. But, it has several places where you can keep system notes, and extensions that add-on such features:
