Server Build

Hi Guys,

Im a relative Linux newbie and I want so setup a web server and a java application server on debian. I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with this and would be able to give me a few pointers maybe suggest a few resources that I can check out?

The intended server is an old compac desktop 800Mhz and 256 RAM. Im running Sarge on it now would this be enough hardware wise?
