serial port help in mandrake 9.0
I have just installed Mandrake 9.0 on my computer. I had to install setserial after the install. Now when I try to connect to the internet my modem thinks it's ttys3 and my computer doesn't recognize any ttys3 If I open the device folder I have a ttys4 which is where mandrake thinks my modem is and ttys0 which is my mouse. Every time I start My computer, it scans the serial ports and can't find ttys3 so it assigns the modem to ttys4. But the dev modem folder links to ttys3 which isn't there. I can't just assign ppp to link to ttys4 because unless I go through the setup wizard I can't assign my modem to ttys4, It doesn't go that high in the device tab. and everytime I restart the computer scans and reassigns my modem to ttys3 because that's where it thinks it should be. So I have to rerun the wizard to reassign the correct serial port. Now I can either change the port designation of my modem which I don't now how to do or I can create a ttys3 folder in the dev directory which I don't know how to do. I need help so any advice would be apperciated.
Thanks all
Chad
