Unhappy Sendmail server name in greetings

Hi!

I have a server running Bind DNS. The host name is ns1.mydomain.com.
All the domain names running under the DNS use the mails server called mail.mydomain.com.

However when I run a dns check, I get the following message:
"WARNING: One or more of your mailservers may be claiming to be a host other than what it really is
mail.mydomain.com claims to be host ns1.mydomain.com."

How can I change this such that the greeting in sendmail gives mail.mydomain.com iso ns1.mydomain.com?

Regards,

Macadam

have you used CNAME?

mailserver needs to have an A record.

You can run your domain through www.dnsreport.com to check whether everything is well with your DNS records.
