Please help with what seems to be a baffling problem for me...since I am a newbie everything seems baffling!
Here is my situation...
Have had Redhat 9 Sendmail for about 2 months and all was well. Yesterday a client told me he was not receiving some email. Looked into his Sendmail Config/User Mailbox and could see he had 4 unread messages in there. His Outlook could not retrieve them. Test send email from my email accounts (internal sharing the same Sendmail) and he could not retrieve them, they are sitting in his User Mailbox. Send email from those accounts to myself and could receive and retrieve them. Test from Yahoo, Excite and Hotmail to his account and they were retrieved.
Client’s Outlook does not get error reports when sending/receiving mail. It just does not see some of the mail in the user mailbox. Mail sent from Exchange server (ready to be relegated to the trash) is picked up by his Outlook but mail from our internal Linux based email does not get picked up. My Sendmail account picks up all the mail.
This morning another client reported the same problem...cannot get email from some people. Tested her account with hotmail, yahoo, and excite. She received them. Then tested with Sendmail from Root account and they are still sitting in the User Mailbox. Tested with Exchange and she gets those email. As root I can see and read the email but she cannot get to them.
Have gone through all the Sendmail post and nothing like this in there.
Please help before the clients think I am purposely withholding their email!!!
