Good day, I apologize beforehand if my question is stupid, but I have searched through many search results and I haven't found any answer to my problem.
Here is what I would like to do(if it is possible): I work in the IT department of a small to medium company, and I've been asked to do the following: for certain users, every mail sent by each of them has to be received by another account(aka sent to a particular account), without their knowledge( yes, I am aware it sounds like something wrong, but it is something I've been told to do).I use sendmail (version 8.12.11)with a slackware OS(version 10.2.0).E-mail clients are Microsoft Outlook (ranging from XP to 2007).Thank you and I hope you can help me.
Several ways it could be done, does the user have access to the mailserver? If not a simple procmail recipe would suffice (or doing it via a .forward) You could also just specify multiple deliver locations for the address in the sendmail files. Hard to really say though because we know next to nothing about your setup... it's sendmail on slackware. That leaves a lot of possibilities open.
Thank you for your swift answer, and I apologize for my delayed one(I've been away from work due to examinations). Users login directly to our mail server to receive (from their file in /var/spool/mail/username) or send mail. I tried using a .forward file in the users home directory, but it only worked when it comes to receiving messages, not sending them. Also, only root can login via SSH.If any further information is required, I will do my best to provide it accurately and thank you for any assistance.
