Hello all. I thought I had everything working. I configured sendmail to send outgoing mail only and I used the genericstable to convert
me@none.localhost.localdomain to
me2@myisp.net. Here is my problem: Every test I run shows that the above mentioned address conversion takes place, but when I use mail, nothing is changed. Here is an example:
Code:
>>> sendmail -bt
> /tryflags hs
> /try esmtp me
... (lots of text) ...
final returns: me2 @ myisp . net
> /try smtp me
...
final returns: me2 @ myisp . net
> /try esmtp me@none.localhost.localdomain
...
final returns: me2 @ myisp . net
>>> mail -v -s test me2@myisp.net < /dev/null
... (lots of text)
>>> MAIL From:<me@none.localhost.localdomain> SIZE=211
550 [PERMFAIL] myisp.net requires valid sender domain
As you can see, the address testing in sendmail works just fine, but when I try to actually e-mai l something, my FROM address does not change. I've updated my genericstable with makemao hash genericstable <genericstable and I've restarted sendmail (via /etc/rc.d/rc.sendmail restart)
Any advice/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated
