Sendmail MTA daemon

I don't know how i can fix this (as usual) but everything comes to a halt for about 2 min durring bootup. It says... Starting sendmail MTA daemon: /usr/sbin/sendmail -L sm-msp-queue -Ac -q2m then it finishes the boot up. It did this before and after i upgraded to 2.6.1. It is quite annoying (kinda like me).

well i am assuming you don't use sendmail, so when you actually do boot up go to
cd /etc/rc.d
and type
chmod 644 rc.sendmail
as root and you can forget about it
if that is in fact what you want, and if not then re-state what you want cause all you said is that it was annoying at bootup, not if you wanna fix it and use it, or just rid of it starting

Don't get me wrong i want email. I have yet to even set it up. I was going to search to see what is the better program to use. I was using Evolution before on RH9 and Mandrake. I installed Slackware with very little programs, so i can get the feel of installing them manually. I think it only installed with Mutt and Mozilla Mail. That's the only way i'll ever really get to know Linux better i thought. So if you have any suggestions bring it on.

to my knowldege you only need sendmail if your hosting your own mail server. you dont need it if you want to check your mail. ( even if you want to run your own mail server you have make sure your internet service provider will let you use their smtp. most wont. (search on google for more info) so i wasted all the effort figureing out how to configure sendmail. at least i can send nice little notes to other users on my system )
