sendmail issues

Hi,

I read quite a few of manuals on 'sendmail', but still don't really understand it...

Here is the situation. I have several servers at my disposal, which are used for general calculating purposes (i.e. root users on all the servers). I installed one as webserver, another one as mailserver.

I order a couple of DNS records online that I can configure.

I have several webpages running as virtual hosts on the webserver. I set the A records to the webserver IP. Everything working ok.

I have no experience whatsoever with mail server configuration.

So i set the
MX:mydomain.com to mail.mydomain.com
A:mail.mydomain.com to the ip of the mail server

And then what?
In an ideal situation I would like emails that are sent to info@mydomain.com to be stored on the mailserver (initially) or forwarded to another email account (in a later stage). There is no need to be able to login to the mailserver and send emails. At least not in the very near future.

Can anyone please explain me, in simple english, how i can get to this?

We just started an organization and everybody is sending emails to info@mydomain.com and they all get 'message not delivered' answers...

You need to have one of two things on the mail server for mail to be delivered to info@mydomain.com.

a) a user called info, so that the mailbox for info@mydomain.com can actually reside on the server

b) a virtual user called info@mydomain.com, that can be setup in virtusertable (more complicated) to forward mail to another address
