Sendmail is frustrating
rrrrrrrrrrrr :@ Send mail is frustrating.
Here's my problem: I'm running RH9 and sendmail, sendmail is running, i checked chkconfig. I can send mail out, but I can't recieve. It's probably because port 25 is "blocked" somehow. The reason i think that its blocked is because I cant connect to it on a telnet session. I used the redhat-config-securitylevel tool to turn the firewall rite off, but still to no avail. I believe that sendmail recieves mail thru port 25. my imap port is open and working, and i can log in thru squirrelmail and compose and send mail, but it wont recieve. |
By default on RedHat and most other linux systems, sendmail is disabled for use from the outside world, because most people don't use it that way.
I can't remember exactly how to change it, but I do know it is on sendmail.org ~Andrew |
