Semi-Transparent graphic effects

Hey guys,

I'm trying to implemnt that cool effect that i've seen in some linux desktops: the semi-transparent apearence.
I cant seem to find it in the Mandriva desktop configuration, so i was wondering if Mandriva even has it at all, or if i need to install a package to make it work.

It's not Mandriva that would have it but rather the desktop or window manager your using that has the functionality.

If using KDE then open your Control Cneter from the start Menu. Goto Appearance & Themes, Style. Once there select the tab called effects. Check the box for Enable Gui effects, Then the thrid option Menu effect: select Make Translucent option. Set percentage in bottom part of the menu. Note not all stlyes can use this feature. Usually blue curve and plastix works fine. Also you can make your terminal console show the background through the screen. Open a terminla session and use the Configure konsole option in one of the tabs.

Hope this is what you are after.
