Segmentation Error

Ok the deal is I have installed Mandrake 9.1 on a 800 MHz celeron computer with hardware that I know is supported by that version. When I was installing it I could not do a custom partion of the Harddrive as it would display a window that said it errored and would go back to the prior screen. I installed it on the way that is wanted to setup the partions. While it was copying the files it said the Mozilla package was bad and was not going to be installed. I have tried to install it many times before on the same machine with the same verion and I got that error with allot of the packages that it was installing. I checked the MD5s and they are alright. When I am running the OS sometimes when it is starting I will get a segmentation fault on the Ksplash program. And other times I will be running for a while like when I am using Konq and that will terminate with a segmentation fault. And when I try and start it up again it says the same thing signal 11 segmentation fault. Can someone please tell me what is going on and what I can do to repair it? Thank you for your help in advance.

Segmentation errors

Hi,
Is this machine dedicated to Mandrake, or are you dual booting with another OS? Is the harddrive hda (master on the primary IDE channel), or something else?
Have you tried to look at the partitions as Mandrake set them up, using <fdisk /dev/hdx>.
If you have an installation CD from another linux distro, have you tried using it to set up the partitions to see if it will let you?
Would you be willing to reinstall? I understand that fixing the problem is your first choice , but it may not be the easiest one.
