seeking math progs
 

Hello folks,

I am seeking for some math programms. I would like to derivate functions and I would like to do discrete mathematics, e.g. matrix calculation etc. :)

Any recommendations?

What kind of math? There are many good programs for statistical analysis but yet I would suggest R (at r-project.org/). (Can not post url's due some limits.) Although it does not have any neat GNU interface, at least at the time being, it handles pretty much everything from econometrics to bioinformatics. Great package management and active help pages.
