Security camera record system
Hello all,
I am attempting to set up a security system using Fedora Core 4, Test 3, 64-bit. I would like some suggestions about a good Digital Video Recorder software package to use, preferably free or low-cost. This software should control the pan, tilt, and zoom functions of the cameras over an IP connection, be seen over an IP connection, and be easy to use after setup. Also, I need to pick a DVR input card that will be compatible with this Linux-based app. This card should be capable of 240fps and 640x480 across 8 channels.
I suppose I'll also need help with Apache at a later date.
Another question: Do security camera DVR cards typically have a seperate signal line to control a PTZ camera, or is the controlling signal sent down the same wire as the video signal?
Please be gentle. I'm not that good at Linux yet. Hopefully that'll change with projects like this.
Thanks in advance,
Michael
PS I already have the OS set up thanks to help from others on this system.
