sdb2 instead of sda2 is set in grub after every system-update on Debian

Hello all,

my prolem is that after every system update on Debian(Lenny) the path to the root Partition is automatically set from sda2 to sdb2.

Do someone know in which config do i have to enter the right partition(sda2 on my system), so i don't have to change is in grub every time?

Thnx.

hi

are you using grub legacy or grub2?

if legacy post your /boot/grub/menu.lst and any /etc/grub file or /etc/default/grub file

if grub2 post your /etc/grub.d/10_linux pls

EDIT assuming its legacy edit this part of the menu.lst

# kopt=root=/dev/sdb2 (to sda2)

Thank u,

yes I use legacy,
but I think i failed to explain the problem:

i normally change the sdb2 to sda2 in menu.lst,
and everything runs well, until the next sysem update.

After that i have to edit menu.lst again.

I wanted to know, where this menu.lst changes, after every update come from?

greetz, Alex.
