scroll lock stops/pauses terminal?

Hello, I'm somewhat of a linux n00b, but i've been having a bit of a problem.

I keep my linux webserver on a KVM to my main computer, and the way to switch to it is to tap the scroll-lock key twice. However, the scroll lock key seems to have some effect on my linux machine(slackware), where it stops everything thats going on in the terminal (ie, a download, a compile, etc). Its not usually a problem since I hit it twice, but often times the KVM gets the message and switches before the second scroll lock can be registered on the linux box, making a process i thought was going on be halted completely. How do i fix this?

Thanks,
-Fibbi
