script to read email then download attachment

hi all

does anyone know of a script that i can use
that will read emails from a server
find the attachment (should be embedded html image) then download it to a location
on the server

i guess in that case that it doesn't have to be a php script, could be perl or c, or something
but if it was perl or c, it would have to be exactly as i described
cos i wouldn't know how to edit it

thanks
dave
