This will fix it. enter this following into the console as root:

ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver /usr/lib
ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xscreensaver/config/ /etc/xscreensaver
don;t know why it works, i found it at another bulletin board site, and it works for me.. I'm running Suse 9.1 Pro as well.
