Screen resolution - Linux Enterprise

Hi all, i'm using linux entreprise systme at work, and the menu tool for changing resolution do nothing when i click on it.
I'm using an Nvidia graphic card.
redhat-config-xfree86 command gives me an error then stop.

Does anyone knows a config file or a command to change the desktop resolution on my systme ?

Thanks a lot for your help !

find a file which is something like: x***.conf. On my Ubuntu, it is /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Look for the Monitor section, followed by Screen

Under Monitor, there must be entries for HorizSync, and VertRefresh
Under Screen, there must be multiple resolutions listed.

Post the Monitor and Screen sections of this file, and we can help further.

Give precise details about your distro e.g. Redhat Enterprise Linux or Suse Enterprise Linux and the version number because there are many enterprise Linux distros. I assume you are using RHEL 3.x, so you can edit /etc/x11/XF86Config or /etc/x11/XF86Config-4 to adjust the default resolutions if the Redhat tools are not working for you.
