Screen brightness problem + mouse sticks.
 

I have a Samsung R510 FAADUK which I just upgraded to Xubuntu 11.10.
My mouse (both mouse and mousepad) seem to be stick while moving.
Also if I move my mouse pointer in one direction, and then change the direction it sticks (not for long, but it is irritating.
This is a problem since I upgraded to 11.10 last night, so I'm hoping it's just an option I can change.


The brightness issue is something I've had a problem with since I got linux. The Fn up and down are detected, it shows brightness increasing or decreasing, but the actual brightness don't actually change.


Random point, the new 11.10 xubuntu has a cool background when logging in (black, with dots in a square pattern (I suck at explaining) and says 11.10 xubuntu). where can I get this as a background?

Slight chance it's not a mouse problem, and my laptop has started lagging ever 30 seconds or so (it shouldn't)

Could anyone help me?
If there's any more info (and I'm betting there is) that is needed, let me know.
