Red face scheduling process threads

Hi all,

There is no clarity for me regarding scheduling.
I only know that there are mechanisms of scheduling such as
priority based,First come first serve etc.I want to know how they are applied in realtime .

->what type of sceduling being used in the system?
->Where the programming algorithm is run for that scheduling.
->How the process completes the execution and goes to ready state.
->How about threads and relation between process and threads.
->where is the process used and where is a thread used ?

Please clarify.

Regards,
shaiva
